Whippit

The whippit has grown in popularity in the food industry over recent years as an economical way to dispense whipped cream. The whippit is a small cylinder that holds a charge of 8 g of nitrous oxide or N2O. Each cylinder is about 2.5 inches long and have a foil cap on them. These cylinders are inserted onto a whipped cream dispenser that pierces the foil allowing the gas to enter the dispenser. The dispensers are normally designed to take several charges before they are full. Before charging the dispenser, heavy cream is added to the dispenser, and once the whippit is added they mix quickly and without effort with the heavy cream. N2O has been used for many years for the reason that it does mix easily with the cream, and provides excellent volume to the whipping cream. Once the dispenser is charged it can last for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator, because nitrous oxide is an antibacterial that keeps the cream from going bad.

One of the biggest advantages to whippits is that the nitrous oxide will prevent the cream from oxidizing, a problem with using pressurized air or CO2 that is easily prevent by the use of N2O in the whippits. Simply add a heavy cream that has approximately a 30% fat content to your dispenser, charge your dispenser with your whippit and you will have beautiful whipping cream that will taste fantastic and not break down. Restaurants love whippits not only because they add no after taste to the whipping cream and stay light and fluffy much longer than traditional whipping cream but because they are far more economical than traditional disposable cans of whipping cream such as the ones you find on the grocery store shelf. It is rare that such a canister ever empties completely so you end up being stuck paying for contents that you do not get, unlike the whippit that mixes directly with the heavy cream when you are ready for it too, and the dispenser can be recharged whenever necessary to avoid such waste. It is important to use caution when buy whippits, not all manufacturers are the same.

The whippit charges are made in Europe, where it is assured by laws that the sanitation and purity of your whippit charges are of the highest degree. Whippits made in Asia do not have such laws or regulations attached to them and often times charges from these countries may not have been cleaned before being filled leaving their purity in question. Sure you can settle for whip cream in a can out of the store, or even worse fake imitations in a tub, but if you are craving real cream that can stand as a dessert all on its own then it is a whippit that you are looking for. Affordable and economical, whippits can be purchased both by consumers and wholesale, meaning that even the aspiring home chef can decorate his creations with the finest in whipped cream. To find a whipped cream dispenser and whippits head over to Cream Right they offer a full line of European imported charges and dispensers.
